Wegovy (Semaglutide) 

  • 1. How effective is Wegovy (semaglutide)?

    Almost half of the people who used Wegovy, lost at least 15 percent of their body weight within one year. Individual results may vary. 

  • 2. What is the cost?

    The price varies depending on your prescribed dosage. The cost of the office visit with your medication will typically run between $75-$100 per injection. There are added lab fees for your first visit unless, you have recently had blood work completed. These fees typically run $100. 

  • 3. How often should you take Wegovy (semaglutide)?

    You should inject Wegovy(semaglutide) once per week, on the same day each week. You can inject the drug at any time of day.

  • 4. Where does the injection go?

    Under the skin of your stomach, inner thighs or upper arms.

  • 5. Is it painful?

    The injections use a diabetic needle and are injected subcutaneously therefore, there is minimal, if any, pain. 

  • 6. When should the dose be increased?

    Dosing is usually increased every four weeks. 

  • 7. What are the potential side affects?

    Mild side effects that have been reported with Wegovy include:

    • nausea and vomiting
    • belly pain
    • upset stomach or heartburn
    • burping or flatulence (gas)
    • bloating
    • diarrhea
    • constipation
    • stomach flu
    • fatigue (low energy)
    • headache
    • dizziness

    Some serious side effects have been reported with Wegovy (semaglutide), but they’re not common. Serious side effects that have been reported include:

    • low blood sugar
    • fast heart rate
    • kidney problems, such as kidney failure
    • gallbladder problems, such as gallstones
    • pancreatitis (swelling of your pancreas)
    • risk of thyroid cancer
    • allergic reaction
  • 8. Can I do a Telemedicine visit?

    After at least one in person visit, you may be eligible for a telemedicine visit. We would require you to take a picture of you on your scale with the weight so we can record for our records.  You will also be required to schedule an in office visit at least once every three months. 

  • 9. How do I receive my medication after completion of my telemedicine visit?

    We can ship or send an uber to deliver your medication.  You will be responsible for the cost of the delivery.
